The Triangulator-inator

Optional · the concept, emerging

What problem are you starting to see?

You've worked through your source extracts. If a problem is taking shape, name it — it's optional, and it stays provisional. Leave it blank and keep building; you can name it anytime.

Optional and provisional — the evidence keeps reshaping it. Skip it entirely if nothing's crystallized yet.

Load the raw material.

Field notes, interviews, articles, statistics, anecdotes — the raw material you'll sift for signal. Go wide; include what might contradict you. The problem comes into focus later.

✨ Extract turns an article, notes or a transcript into cards using your own AI — nothing leaves your browser. CSV columns: title,summary,source_url.

  3. Write your own words into the card

Argue with the answer first. The prompt is rebuilt from the live board every time you open this, so come back and run it again once the card has changed.

✨ Extract from sources

Turn raw source material — an article, interview notes, a transcript, a report — into atomic extract cards for your pool. You run the AI in your own tool; nothing leaves your browser.

1Add your source material
2Copy the prompt into your own AI

Copy this, paste it into Claude or ChatGPT, and run it. It returns a JSON list of extracts.

3Paste the result back

Working folder downloaded — commit it, then submit in OLOS

This .zip is your working folder — your whole board as data (state.json) plus the situation and themes as Markdown. The tool has no server; your triad syncs through one shared Git repo, and the manual loop is what keeps any one person from framing alone.

  1. Unzip the folder into your local clone of the triad's shared repository, as your own top-level folder (overwriting your previous version).
  2. Commit & push with three commands:
    git add .
git commit -m "Update situation map — [your name]"
    git push
  3. Git merges your map with your podmates'. A merge conflict isn't an error — it's a conversation: two of you saw the same thing differently, so talk it out, then commit the resolution.
  4. Submit in OLOS: open your cycle → Propose. The form is one short page: paste the triad repo's URL as “Link to your map”, name the situation, and distill it to one sentence. Voting happens on the OLOS ballot; the repo is what voters open.

This manual loop is intentional. It prevents the Lone Warrior syndrome — no single person's export overwrites everyone else's work without Git making you negotiate.

! Clear this board?

Everything on the canvas goes — every extract, card, situation and note. The sample pool reloads and you start from nothing.

This cannot be undone. If you might want this work, close this and export it first.

Add source extracts

⚠️ Data Verification Required

The AI gathered these extracts, but you own the strategic analysis. You must verify these extracts against your original source documents.

About to import these extracts. Only confirm once you've checked them against your sources — they'll be marked verified.

Import more source extracts

Add observations from a CSV to this canvas. New signals land together in open space beside your current map — nothing you've built moves. Columns: title,summary,source_url (header row required; source_url optional), or download the template.

✨Convert any dataset with AI

Copy this prompt, open Claude or ChatGPT, paste it in, then add your raw data at the bottom. Upload the CSV it returns here.

Open a shared working folder

Load a working folder someone exported from this tool — either the .zip itself or the unzipped folder. You'll get their whole board: lattice, problem situation, card pages, and attached files.

✨ AI prompts

There is no AI in this tool. It writes a prompt out of what's on your board; you run it in whichever model you use. Nothing leaves your browser.

  1. See the prompt text
  2. Open your AI and paste it in
    Claude ChatGPT Gemini NotebookLM Perplexity
  3. Bring it back and argue with it

Ask follow-ups; don't stop at the first response. If you agree too easily, ask it to argue the opposite. Then write your words back onto the card — not its words.
